1. Information We Collect
Voice Recordings
When you record a moment, your voice audio is captured and stored. Audio is processed to generate a text transcription and AI-generated summary. Recordings are associated with your account and stored securely on our servers.
Account Information
If you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you choose to provide. You may use Moments without an account, in which case your data is stored locally on your device.
Usage Data
We collect anonymous usage data such as app sessions, feature interactions, and crash reports to help us improve the app. This data does not contain the content of your journal entries.
Device Information
We may collect basic device information including device model, operating system version, and app version for diagnostic purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Moments service
- To transcribe your voice recordings into text
- To generate AI summaries of your journal entries
- To sync your data across your devices
- To send service-related communications (e.g. account updates)
- To improve the app through aggregated, anonymized analytics
3. AI Processing
Moments uses third-party AI services to generate transcriptions and summaries of your voice recordings. Your audio and text may be sent to these services for processing. We use providers that maintain strict data security standards and do not use your personal content to train their models. We do not sell your data to third parties.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored using industry-standard encryption, both in transit (TLS) and at rest. We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data and account
- Export your journal entries in a portable format
- Opt out of analytics data collection
